Driving

Arkaba offers one of the most accessible outback destinations in Australia - just 5 hours' drive or 1 hour's flight from Adelaide, 1.5 hours from Kangaroo Island, 4 hours' drive from the hills and valleys of the Barossa, 3 hours' drive from the Clare Valley wine region and a little over an hour from Port Augusta.

The most direct route by road takes the coastal freeway to Port Augusta before heading inland via Quorn to Arkaba.  The scenic route takes in the Clare Valley, where there are a good vineyards for lunch stops in world famous wine country.  

Flying

Arkaba arranges private charter flights from Adelaide to Hawker (65 mins in a single engined Cirrus, or 60 minutes in a larger  twin engine aircraft.  

Monday through Friday, Sharp Airlines operates a once or twice daily 50 minute commercial flight from Adelaide to Port Augusta from where it is a 75 minute drive to Arkaba (Arkaba provides a transfer service to and from Port Augusta).

Guests joining the Arkaba Walk have the flight from Adelaide to Port Augusta or Hawker included in the all inclusive walk price, as well as the return via a scenic road transfer, including lunch in the Clare Valley.
