Oz Whale Watching

FAQ

How big is the boat?

The MV Jerry Bailey is a 21m vessel, specially designed to handle ocean conditions. We make sure there is plenty of room onboard to take full advantage of whale sightings, move around and take photos, and will never overcrowd the vessel.

Is there any guarantee for sighting whales?

The success rate in seeing whales is approximately 90-95%. As whales are wild animals, we cannot guarantee that whales are sighted on all cruises although it is rare that whales are not sighted. In the unfortunate instance where whales are not sighted guests will be offered a return cruise on a stand-by basis FOC. This cannot be exchanged for money and refunds are not given and guests will be issued with a voucher that is valid for 3 years.

Is the ocean water rough?

Our vessel is specially designed for ocean cruising and our highly experienced captain is an expert at cruising in open waters. If you have any questions regarding the open seas during whale watching season, please give us a call. We ask all of our guests to read through our safety briefing and safety poster before coming along to their cruise.

What should I bring?

Please bring your Oz Whale Watching booking confirmation as you wil require this to board the boat. Camera, weather appropriate clothing and sun protection is also advised.
