This photography workshop is led by professional photographer Trevor Scouten, aboard the luxurious MV Ocean Blue. Guests will enjoy a magical five hour sunset adventure, providing the perfect backdrop to photograph Humpback Whales alongside one of the most beatiful cities in the world.
During the tour, Trevor will provide specialist advice and assistance in relation to whale photography including lenses, camera, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, lighting and post processing, to give guests the best opportunity to capture their dream photographs. The MV Ocean Blue is a luxurious boat that sits low in the water, providing the perfect shooting angle. In combination with the experienced crew, photographers of all levels are invited to the workshop and are sure to be captivated by the amazing scenery and interactions with these majestic animals.
Departing from one of the world’s most beautiful harbours, guests will embark on the MV Ocean Blue early afternoon from the King St Wharf. This luxury cruiser is capable of carrying 16 passengers with the number limited to 8 passengers on whale photography workshops, to ensure everyone has a premium vantage point for capturing photographs of these amazing creatures.
Within 45 minutes the boat will reach the Tasman Sea where the whale watching adventures will begin. Led by an expert crew, photographers will also learn about the whales, their migration patterns and behaviours in-between receiving expert tutelage from Trevor Scouten. Combined with Sydney’s stunning coastal backdrop, this workshop is a truly unforgettable experience. Other marine species that may be encountered on the five hour journey include Bottlenose Dolphins, Minke whales and pelagic seabirds including a wide variety of Albatrosses.
