About Wildlife Coast Cruises: Founded by John Dickie, Wildlife Coast Cruises has shown locals and visitors the spectacular wildlife and coastal scenery around Phillip Island, Seal Rocks, Westernport Bay and Wilsons Promontory for over 23 years. The cruise departs from the San Remo jetty, a picturesque fishing harbor at the start of Phillip Island bridge. On board the 'Kasey Lee' or 'Brianna Lee' catamaran, guests can choose from indoor or outdoor seating. While cruising out to spot the whales off Phillip Island, guests should be on the lookout for marine wildlife with regular sightings of Australian Fur Seals, Bottlenose or Common dolphins and various birds like the White-bellied Sea Eagle, Wedge-tailed Eagle, Australasian Gannet, Crested Tern and Shy Albatross.
The captain and crew will provide commentary on the local historical sites and are experts at finding fascinating wildlife, as the spectacular cliff formations come into view. After 30 minutes, guests will enjoy beautiful panaromas of the Summerlands Peninsula, home to at least 30,000 breeding pairs of Little Penguins. The famous landmark of The Nobbies will come into view, which is a key breeding rookery for Crested Terns and Silver Gulls. Just as the cruise leaves the bay and heads into Bass Strait to Seal Rocks, guests will be able to view a large cave on Round Island, only visible from the sea.
But is the majestic Humpback Whales that are often the stars of the show. When the whales are spotted, get ready to be in awe of their majestic size as they surface and take a breath of air. Every whale encounter is different; some might be elusive while others approach the boat providing a fantastic view of their features including the large pectoral fins and the huge flukes. Depending on the whale behaviour, the boat might cruise alongside them as they travel slowly. Guests will learn about their biology, social behaviour, communication and migration patterns as the captain and crew share their knowledge and passion about these animals. After a delicious afternoon tea, the cruise concludes back at the charming port of San Remo.

"We joined the winter whale cruise today. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We saw at least five Humpback whales, one of them even jumped out of the water twice so that we could saw the whole whale. It was unbelievable spectacular. We saw seals and dolphins as well. The crew are nice and friendly, highly recommend." - Tina, Hong Kong
"The whole experience was great from initial booking to saying farewell to the crew and vessel. This was our third trip with Wildlife Coast Cruises and it exceeded all our expectations with many humpback whales to watch as well as common dolphins, Australian fur seals, lots of seabirds from Albatross to gannets to Sooty Oystercatchers. A thoroughly enjoyable day with the knowledgeable, skilled friendly crew and perfect weather conditions, all in all a fantastic and unforgettable day observing all the whale behaviours from breaching, tail slapping and fin waving - it couldn't have been better and the food was really great too - a big thank you for the experience to Wildlife Coast Cruises" - Joy, Australia
